Beyond the Game

Every whistle is a paycheque. Every appointment, a pathway.

ICSL Assist NPC pays young Johannesburg match officials to work Inner City Super League fixtures — and builds them a certified route to international accreditation with FIBA and the IWBF.

The Officials Programme

Referees, table officials and statisticians — trained, appointed, and paid

Every ICSL and Junior Classic Schools fixture runs on the same three roles: referees, table officials and statisticians. ICSL Assist NPC registers, trains and pays them — turning match-day appointments into a genuine, youth-led income stream rather than volunteer hours.

All technical training runs under Basketball South Africa’s national curriculum, so an official’s very first course is already built to the standard FIBA and the IWBF expect further down the pathway.

The Pathway

From first whistle to FIBA license

Run jointly with Basketball South Africa, the pathway tracks every discipline against one time-bound goal: join under 25, reach international accreditation by 30.

1. LOCAL REGISTRATION → 2. BSA TRAINING → 3. APPOINTMENT VOLUME → 4. BSA NOMINATION → 5. FIBA / IWBF TESTING → 6. INTERNATIONAL OFFICIATING

The goal is time-bound, not aspirational: officials who join under 25 are deliberately fast-tracked toward international accreditation by age 30.
